CFTRI scientist wins prestigious award

Dr. Ngaseppam Iboyaima Singh, Senior Principal Scientist, Department of Fruit and Vegetable Technology, CSIR-CFTRI, Mysuru, has been conferred the prestigious Dr. M. Mahadeviah Award- 2016 in recognition of his significant contribution to the development of Food Processing and Packaging in the country.

 

Dr. M. Mahadeviah is a renowned food scientist and technologist, and the former Deputy Director, CSIR-CFTRI.

 

Singh was awarded by the All India Food Processors’ Association during their 73rd Annual Conference in and National Seminar on Vision 2025- Development of Food Processing Industries in Eastern India in New Delhi recently.

 

His work at CFTRI focuses on Food and Vegetable Technology, and he is also responsible for organizing short term training programmes for the students.

 

Singh has won the N.N. Mohan Memorial Award twice for the best research paper awarded by All India Food Preservers’ Association, New Delhi.

 

He holds a doctorate degree in the field of food technology.
