The new production line allows to manufacture 10 million liters per year of liquid products

NESTLÉ has inaugurated a new production line at the Villa Nueva plant in the province of Córdoba, which will allow it to enter the production of liquid milk, in segments with added value.

The project had an investment of more than 480 million pesos to acquire a new sterilization plant, state-of-the-art technology, an adaptation for packaging and the renovation of existing boilers, the cold system for the whole plant and a modern deposit automated. This investment is part of a local investment plan executed in the last four years, which represents a total of 5,200 million pesos.

The new production line allows to manufacture 10 million liters per year of liquid products of added value with the UHT method, a thermal treatment that produces sterilized milk.

Gian Carlo Aubry, CEO and President of Nestlé Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay said, “For 89 years we have been present in Argentina, leading the milk powder market and that encourages us to continue betting on the development of our brands. Today we are announcing our entry into the liquids market, with added value products, to bring novelties to our consumers, boost business growth, promote export and be pioneers working on new projects, such as organic milk and A2 milk. Nestlé has the strength to make a connection between the demand of consumers from different parts of the world and the supply of countries like ours.”

For both its Villa Nueva plant and its other 5 factories and its headquarters in Argentina, Nestlé signed an agreement whereby, starting in 2020, 100% of the electric power will come from renewable sources, in line with the company’s commitment to preserve natural resources for future generations.
