Sanjay Singhal, the former Chief Operating Officer (COO) of ITC, has assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Wagh Bakri Tea Group. With an illustrious career across multiple top-tier companies, Singhal’s transition represents a significant leadership change for the 132-year-old tea brand.
Singhal announced his new role on LinkedIn, stating, “I’m pleased to share that I’ve taken on the role of Chief Executive Officer at Wagh Bakri Tea Group!”
During his tenure at ITC, Singhal played a crucial role in the dairy and beverages division. His career began at Lakme Lever and included key positions at Hindustan Unilever, Yum! Restaurants International, GE Capital, Aditya Birla Capital, and Dabur India. At Aditya Birla Group, he served as Chief Marketing Officer, overseeing the marketing and public relations for Birla Sun Life Mutual Fund. As the Marketing Head for Foods at Dabur India, Singhal managed a portfolio worth approximately Rs 2,000 crore ($320 million), overseeing iconic brands like Real, Hajmola, and Honey. His contributions also included process improvements, involvement in mergers and acquisitions, and regulatory affairs.
