The government has extended the minimum export price for natural honey to $2,000 per tonne
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has announced an extension of the Minimum Export Price (MEP) policy for the export of natural honey. Originally set to expire on December 31, 2024, the policy will remain in effect until December 31, 2025.
The government has extended the minimum export price for natural honey to $2,000 per tonne, effective until December 2025. Under this policy, exporters must adhere to the minimum price for natural honey, which is classified under ITC Code 04090000 of Schedule II (Export Policy). This measure ensures fair trade practices by preventing underpricing in international markets and protecting the domestic honey industry from potential price distortions.
The DGFT’s decision underscores the government’s commitment to stabilizing the export market. Honey exporters must adjust their pricing strategies to comply with the updated policy during this extended period.
