This is a pilot project and will begin with a two day workshop from 16-17 February, 2017 at Vadapalani Andavar Temple, Chennai. In its initial stage, the project will include 10 temples of Tamil Nadu and their officials will be trained by two master trainers and five local trainers through Association of Food Scientist and Technologists (AFST). The first day of the training will focus on classroom training module whereas; the second day will lay emphasis on hand holding and minute detailing on maintaining hygiene while processing food.

Earlier, FSSAI had conducted a similar pilot project at Siddhivinayak temple in Mumbai which was a big success. Riding on the success extravaganza, the food regulation authority now wants to spread its wings and impart similar training module to other temples of the country.
