PepsiCo, one of the largest food manufacturers in the world, and Arysta LifeScience Chile have signed an agreement to produce healthier potatoes in Chile, with less environmental impact and reduction of waste rates.

Under the agreement, the select group of Chilean potato farmers that supplies PepsiCo on an exclusive basis will use the solutions from the Arysta LifeScience Pronutiva program, which combines traditional crop protection inputs with biological solutions.

The project, called Bio-Alliance, strengthens the practices already adopted by PepsiCo to improve the quality of its portfolio. PepsiCo also holds the Rainforest Alliance Seal in Chile. For Arysta LifeScience, the partnership recognizes the investment in plant health and more sustainable products in its Pronutiva program, which sets the company apart at a global level, and particularly in Latin America.

PepsiCo is one of the largest buyers of potatoes in Chile. The farmers impacted by the Bio-Alliance produce approximately 50,000 tons of potatoes over 3,700 acres in all regions of the country.
