Amul Dairy has reduced procurement prices of milk from producers by 3 per cent from September 11.

 

Procurement prices have been reduced by Rs 13.80 for cow milk (fat) per kg, it has been reduced by Rs 20 per kg for buffalo milk (fat) bringing price per kg from Rs 660 to Rs 640 respectively.

 

This decision is slated to affect 6 lakh dairy farmers in Anand from among the total 36 lakh dairy farmers in the state.

 

 

Gujarat dairy unions had been cutting milk procurement prices among rising supply where rising milk production coupled with the reduction in milk powder price has forced the member unions to cut the price of milk procured from farmers.

 

In recent months, procurement prices of milk have also seen the reduction in other district dairies like Vadodara, Sabar and Banas dairy in the range of Rs 20 to Rs 40 in the past few months.
