FSSAI issues warning to nutraceutical companies in Himachal Pradesh
Under the flagship program of FSSAI, the Eat Right Challenge, Srinagar has to increase the number of registrations and licenses by 20% by March 2021
A fresh drive has begun in the Srinagar district against Food Business Operators, who are running their business without obtaining mandatory licenses and registration, under the Food Safety & Standards Act.
According to an official spokesperson, sixty complaints have been filed in the competent court pertaining to this matter. Under the flagship program of FSSAI, the Eat Right Challenge, Srinagar has to increase the number of registrations and licenses by 20 per cent by March 2021.
The statement also reads that carrying out food business without obtaining a license is an offense under the FSS Act and the offender will be sentenced to 6 months’ imprisonment and fined up to 5 lakhs.
The Department has urged all Food Business Operators to acquire registration or license as per their annual turnover by visiting the website.
