The new facility is designed to assist food producers in addressing the rising challenges of feeding a growing global population while reducing the environmental impact of food production
Alfa Laval has announced the launch of its cutting-edge Food Innovation Centre in Copenhagen, Denmark, marking a pivotal moment in the company’s capital expenditure strategy. The new facility is designed to assist food producers in addressing the rising challenges of feeding a growing global population while reducing the environmental impact of food production.
Sammy Hulpiau, President of Alfa Laval’s Food & Water Division, explains, “This investment is a critical piece in addressing the dual challenges of feeding the world’s population sustainably while reducing resource consumption. We see our role as facilitating the transformation of the global food industry—one that consumes less water, uses less energy, and takes a more integrated approach to resource management. This is our definition of pioneering a positive impact.”
The centre, located at Alfa Laval’s Food and Water business headquarters, will function as a hub for R&D focused on advancing food production efficiency, sustainability, and resilience. The facility will leverage cutting-edge technologies and foster collaboration with a diverse array of industry leaders, from innovative start-ups to established global food corporations and academic institutions. This collaborative approach aims to drive impactful, transformative change across the food sector.
