MoFPI to organise India’s 1st virtual processed food R&D Expo

The platform will present information on products, processes and technology development as well as the latest innovations by different food technology development institutes of the country.

Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI), Government of India is organizing India’s 1st “Virtual Processed Food Research & Development EXPO (VPFRDE)” for showcasing Research & Development and Innovation in the field of food processing sector by premier Food Technology Academic Institutions of India from 20th to 22nd January 2021. Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) is the Event Partner for this event. 

Research and Development (R&D) in processed food sector is an important area where focused attention is required, as it leads to improved trade, production, quality, consumer safety and public health. Recognising this, for the first time a virtual convention is envisaged to showcase Innovation and R&D in food processing sector by premier Food Technology Institutions of India (NIFTEM, IIFPT, CFTRI, ICAR, IIT’s).

Virtual Processed Food Research & Development (VPFRDE)  2021 is digital platform for creating awareness and showcasing the new Research & Development Technologies of India funded under the PM Kisan SAMPADA Yojana of Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India amongst all the relevant stakeholders.   

The key focus areas of VPFRDE convention comprise of following food category categories: 

  • Novel Food Products 
  • Innovations in Food Engineering 
  • Food Safety & Quality Evaluations  
  • Food Packaging Solutions 
  • Food Industry Waste Utilization
