The MoU aims to expedite smart protein innovation in India
The Good Food Institute India has signed an MoU with CSIR−Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), a premier food research institution, to expedite smart protein innovation in India.
Formalised at the National Symposium on Plant Proteins in Mysuru, this collaboration will leverage CFTRI’s unparalleled expertise in protein research, cutting-edge facilities, and proven technocommercialisation prowess for advancing R&D, scale-up, and talent development.

In their address, food technologist Dr Vishweshwaraiah Prakash highlighted the indispensable role of plant proteins in cultivated meat, and Dr Sridevi Annapurna Singh, Director − Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), underscored the significance of the collaboration with GFI India, given CFTRI’s six decades of proficiency in plant protein innovation.
