Crazy Cock Indian Single Malt Whisky unveils Madhuca: The Heritage Editions. It is the first single malt finished in Mahura casks. Created at South Seas Distilleries, the crafters of India’s oldest single malts this collection represents a rare meeting of heritage, design and innovation.

“Crazy Cock The Indian Single Malt Whisky represents the passion, patience and perseverance of fearless souls who dare to dream differently just like our founder,” said Hamavand Chinoy, Director, South Seas Distilleries. “Behind every drop lies our century-long commitment to shaping the future of Indian single malt. This world-first Mahura cask finish is an extension of our relentless pursuit of innovation – perfecting the art of Indian single malt and affirming India’s potential to redefine global whisky craftsmanship.”

The inspiration for the Mahura finish comes from the Mahua flower, an ancient tree revered in the Vedas and long associated with Indian communities. South Seas are the first commercial distillers of Mahua flower spirit, and the unique and versatile character of this indigenous spirit that once rested in the same cask used to shape these exotic signature and style of the Madhuca expressions.

The three expressions of Madhuca emerge from meticulously selected oak casks. Each reveals a different facet of Indian terroir and the creative philosophy that has quietly guided South Seas for generations. All three share a smooth, rounded structure with layers of honeyed florals, subtle spice and a distinctive Indian warmth that lingers elegantly on the palate.

South Seas Distilleries had also unveiled a rare collector’s bottling of the world’s first matured Mahua spirit.

Madhuca: The Heritage Editions will be available at select five-star hotels, premium clubs, duty-free boutiques and leading retailers across Mumbai, Gurgaon, Bengaluru and Goa.
