PepsiCo announced two key senior management appointments in its Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) division.
D. Shivakumar, former Nokia MD in India, has been named Chairman and CEO for Pepsico’s India Region. Appointment of Shivkumar fills in the position lying vacant since Manu Anand left in June to join Cadbury Kraft.
Shivakumar will oversee all aspects of PepsiCo’s India Region including many of the company’s food and beverage brands in India. This includes Pepsi-Cola, Lay’s potato chips, Slice mango beverage, Kurkure snacks, Tropicana juices and Quaker oats. He will also oversee the NourishCo joint venture with Tata Global Beverages as well as franchise businesses in Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
Shivkumar will be responsible for strategically deploying the Rs. 33,000 crore investment in India that PepsiCo announced last month. He will report directly to Sanjeev Chadha, CEO PepsiCo AMEA (Asia, Middle East and Africa).
