CFTRI gets a new Director

Dr. KSMS Raghava Rao has been appointed as the new Director of Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysuru. Rao’s appointment has come as a relief after many retired employees have been demanding the higher authorities to investigate all corruption charges made against the former Director Prof. Ram Rajasekharan.

 

Rao had been serving as the Chief Scientist at the Department of Food Engineering in CFTRI. His research work involves the application of principles of Chemical Engineering for process and product development in the area of Food Process Engineering as well as Food and Biotechnology.

 

He has won many awards during his research career, the latest being the VASVIK Industrial Research Award in the area of Biological Sciences and Technology in 2015.

 

He has numerous publications to his credit. His research work has yielded 24 Indian patents, 19 PCT patents and 6 US patents.
