Training in this field can update the knowledge of dairy and food personal
The ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute, Karnal, invites applications from faculty members and researchers of Indian universities/research institutions for a 21 days training program sponsored by Agricultural Education Division of Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi, scheduled from January 15- February 4, 2020.
The objectives of this course are-
(i) To acquaint the participants about application of bio-process Technology in Dairy and Food industry
(ii) To provide the hands-on training on latest techniques used in the area of bioprocess technology
(iii) Provide knowledge regarding advanced trends of Bio-process Technology
Bioprocess may be considered as a process that uses living cells or their components (like bacteria, enzymes, etc.) to obtain desired products. Bioprocess Technology is commonly used in dairy and food processing in Food fermentations. Application of bioprocess technology in preparation of enzymes and other metabolites may lead to developments of novel ingredients for functional foods formulations and bio-preservations. Further bio-process technology can be applied in novel packaging material formulations like development of edible and biodegradable packaging. Newer application of bioprocess technology can be seen in formulation of sensor to observe in-package food quality or detection of pathogens. Therefore, training in this field can update the knowledge of dairy and food personal with subsequent advanced trends of Bio-process Technology in Dairy and Food Processing.
The proposed intensive course content has been designed to cover the application of the bio-process technology in functional foods developments, evaluation of bioactivity and efficacy of functional foods, development of edible, biodegradable and smart packaging, formulation of sensor for detection of contaminants and pathogens.
