Jagdish Saxena, Chairman and Managing Director of Elder Pharmaceuticals, passed away on October 10, 2013 after a prolonged illness. The company under his leadership has launched many brands namely Eldervit, Elmecob, Ivit, Nephrocaps, B long and Thrive in nutrition space in different formats such as injection, syrup, tablets. The company emerged as one of the top 50 pharma companies in India.

Jagdish Saxena formed Elder Pharmaceuticals in Mumbai in 1983, when he lost his job due to the shut down of the pharma division of a company for which he was working. And in 1989 the company set up its first manufacturing plant at Nerul, in Mumbai. In 1998, the company got converted into Public Limited Company.
