Novasep opens India subsidiary in Bangalore

Novasep, a leading supplier of manufacturing solutions to the life sciences industry, has opened Novasep Process Engineering Services PCT LTD in Bangalore, strengthening its presence in India. The subsidiary is a part of the company’s Industrial Biotech Business Unit.

Michel Cotillon, formerly R&D Head of the Industrial Biotech business of Novasep has been promoted to head the subsidiary as General Manager.

The new subsidiary will meet India’s increasing need for high efficacy processes for its fast growing food and feed industries, the company said. The new office will enable Novasep to serve more closely industries in India producing functional and commodity food and feed ingredients, milk derivatives and bio-based chemicals.

“Novasep’s set up in India is another key milestone in our strategy to expand our geographical presence,” said Michel Spagnol, CEO, Novasep. “After our success in China, Novasep India is well placed to support our growth in future years.”

Novasep’s Indian subsidiary will provide expert local support to sugar mill and dairy operators in India to integrate Novasep’s optimized processes for enhancing quality of their products.

Novasep will continue to sell biopharma chromatography equipment and associated processes in India. Company has also announce that its India representative Nilsan Nishotech will remain the exclusive agent for Novasep for industrial biotech and biopharma purification processes and systems in India.

Novasep’s offering includes process development services, purification equipment and turnkey processes, contract manufacturing services and complex active molecules to serve pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, fine chemical, food and functional ingredients as well as bio-sourced chemicals and bio-industries.
