Deepak Iyer appointed as MD of India for Mondelez

Deepak Iyer has been appointed as Managing Director of India operations of Confectionery major Mondelez International, the maker of Cadbury chocolates and Oreo biscuits.
As Managing Director of Mondelez India Foods Iyer will be part of the Asia Pacific Leadership Team and report into Maurizio Brusadelli, EVP & President, Asia Pacific, Mondelez International. Earlier he was formerly CEO and MD of Bharti Axa General Insurance Company. Prior to that he was CEO and managing director of chewing gum maker Wrigley India Pvt Ltd. He also worked with American food and beverages company PepsiCo Inc. for about 17 years across different roles and in different markets.
He would replace Chandramouli Venkatesan, who led the business as managing director for close to two years and was with the company for more than a decade. Venkatesan has decided to pursue opportunities outside the company.
