Subway brings back honey oat bread and creamy sriracha sauce
Dr. Muhammed Majeed, Founder and Chairman, Sami–Sabinsa Group was honoured today with prestigious accolade of “Outstanding NRI Businessman of the Year” by Dhanam Publications at Hotel Le Meridien, Kochi for his admirable accomplishment and colossal contribution to the Ayurveda industry this year.
A judging committee consisting of eminent panel members were the jury for this award. The mega event had many prominent NRIs, leading businesspersons and industrialists, policy-makers and top government officials as its esteemed guests.
On receiving the award Dr. Muhammed Majeed, Founder and Chairman, Sami-Sabinsa Group said, “I am truly honored to receive this award among distinguished audience. This gives me the inspiration to bring our society and especially the Gen Y & Z close to the significance of Ayurveda, an alternative to conventional medicine. I am glad that Indians have already garnered the spirit of Ayurveda and in the years to come I am sure our research will develop more quintessential medicines and beauty solutions that would make our society a healthier abode for generations to come.”

Around the same time, Dr. Majeed, a pharmacist from Kerala, having immigrated to The US in 1975 with a mere US $ 8.00 in his pocket, mind full of dreams and inspiration from his mother, had completed his PhD in Industrial Pharmacy from St. John’s University, New York. He worked in the R&D Divisions of Pfizer Inc, Carter Wallace and as Head of Research at Paco Research, New Jersey, USA. He always was aware that ‘Ayurveda’ had the answers for the ailments Americans were suffering from and to convince them, he went deep into the science of herbs, used cutting edge technology of industrial pharmacy to convert them into modern dosage forms. Thus began the journey of ‘Dr. Majeed’s success in the field of health science.’
