Food regulator Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) will soon launch ‘The Orange Book’ on Guidelines for Food Safety, Vendor Management, Training and Nutrition for Corporate Companies.

The book is a set of guidelines which can be followed by the Facility Management team of corporates and their Food Vendors. The book speaks highly on the presence of a Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) trained under the FoSTaC Programme (Food Safety Training and Certification), as well as the Health and Wellness Co-ordinator (HWC) who should look into people’s nutritional requirements and meet the same in the corporate premises.

Co-authored by Mr. Ashwin Bhadri (CEO – Equinox Labs), who adds, “It is important to bring into consideration the corporate arena, where people spend most of their time. More than 50 per cent of the employees are dependent upon their companies to provide them fresh, safe and nutritious food. While these guidelines are not mandatory, they act as Best Practices to ensure overall compliance with the FSSAI rules and regulations.”
