The Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Cooperative (Campco) Ltd will engage consultancy firm KPMG to improve operation and marketing in its chocolate division.
The consultancy firm has been engaged for two years to help Campco step up sales finished and branded chocolates, besides exploring new markets.
KPMG will also identify opportunities for cost reduction and operational improvement in the factory, supply chain and distribution.
Campco procures and processes cocoa, and markets cocoa-based products. The co-operative procured 1,893 tonnes of wet cocoa beans and 2,606 tonnes of dry cocoa beans in 2016-17.
Campco sold 8,302 tonnes of chocolate products worth Rs183.31 crore during the year 2016-17. Of this, the share of export was at 1,324 tonnes worth Rs29.55 crore. Of the total sales, Rs 48.65 crore came from finished chocolate products and Rs134.66 crore came from industrial products.
