Swiggy appoints Vivek Sunder as COO

Online food delivery startup Swiggy has appointed Vivek Sunder as its Chief Operating Officer (COO), effective immediately.

In his new role, Sunder will be responsible for the company’s operating units and will help in driving company’s overall growth and operations.

Prior to Swiggy, Vivek was working with Procter & Gamble (P&G). He joined P&G in 1998, and since then worked on several senior positions in the company. He holds a degree of MBA from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta, and he studied computer engineering from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology.

In June end, Swiggy raised Series G funding of $210 million led by existing investor Naspers and new investor DST Global, along with others. Swiggy said that it will use the fresh funds to ramp up its supply chain network, to expand to new markets, technology and branding. It had also added that it will double its technology headcount for operations, personalization and connected supply chain systems.
