The Karimnagar Milk Producers Company (KMPC), Telangana, is setting up a mega dairy plant with a capacity of processing three lakh litres milk a day at Nallagonda under Thimmapur mandal.

 

The project has been approved by an Inter-Ministerial group under the chairmanship of Union Minister of Food Processing Industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal. The government will provide financial assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana. 

 

The project will involve an investment of Rs 63 crore and will benefit 75,000 farmers who are members of the Farmer Producer Company. The project will also generate direct employment to 500 persons. 

 

According to C Rajeshwar Rao, Chairman, KMPC, the project shall be supported by 15 Bulk Milk Cooling Centres (BMCs) over nearby districts of Rajanna-Sircilla, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Medak, Siddipet, Jangaon as well as Karimnagar.
