The Kolkata Municipal Corporation conducted food safety drive at nearly 10 restaurants in Kolkata.

The drive was led by Member, Mayor-in Council (Health) Mr. Atin Ghosh and started from a star hotel near KMC headquarters. The drive was to check whether the storage and preservation of food is being done in the right manner following the guidelines of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI).

KMC has been conducting such drives for the last three years to ensure safety and quality of food. Mr. Ghosh said that they are taking steps to maintain hygiene during Durga Puja. While speaking to media, he also said that their team is ensuring that prepared food is not being stored in refrigerators beyond 12 hours.
