PAU to commercialise sugarcane juice bottling technology

According to the MoA, the university offers non-exclusive rights to M.R. Enterprises for bottling of sugarcane juice by PAU within India.

The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has inked a pact with M.R. Enterprises, Karnataka, for the commercialization of sugarcane juice bottling technology.

Dr N.S. Bains, Director of Research, PAU, and C. Bettegowda, Managing Director, M.R. Enterprises, Mandya signed the Memorandum of Agreement on behalf of their respective organizations.

According to the MoA, the university offers non-exclusive rights to the above mentioned company for bottling of sugarcane juice by PAU within India.

Dr Bains congratulated Dr (Mrs) Poonam Aggarwal Sachdev, Head, and Enigineer Karanvir Gill, Teaching Associate, Department of Food Science and Technology for developing the technology for shelf stable, preservative free, ready to serve bottled sugar cane juice. The sugarcane juice is thermally processed to kill microorganisms and increase shelf life, thereby offering a completely healthy and hygienic product in comparison to that sold by the roadside vendors.

Dr. S.S. Chahal, Adjunct Professor, Technology Marketing and IPR Cell informed that PAU has signed 3 MoAs for Sugarcane Juice Bottling Technology with various companies across the nation.
