The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) has entered into partnership with Tokita Seed India Private Limited, Yelahanka New Town, Bengaluru (Karnataka), for the commercialization of chilli hybrid CH 27.
Dr N.S. Bains, Director of Research, PAU, and Mr Mallikarjun C. Gadal, Chilli Breeder, Tokita Seed India Private Limited, Bengaluru, signed the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) in the presence of Dr Ashok Kumar, Dean, College of Agricultural Engineering and Technology.
CH 27 is a high yielding hybrid with multiple resistances to leaf curl virus, fruit rot and root knot nematodes. Its fruits are light green, long and medium in pungency. The hybrid is suitable for powder making and processing purposes.
It is a high yielding variety being widely accepted by farmers in the North Western part of the country.
