The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi has inked a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Institute of Agriculture Extension Management (MANAGE), Rajendranagar, Hyderabad.
The MoU is meant for the cooperation in the various areas of Agricultural Research and Education.
Dr. Trilochan Mohapatra, Secretary (DARE) & DG (ICAR) and Dr. V. Usha Rani, Director General, MANAGE signed the Memorandum.
With the MoU, the ICAR and MANAGE have agreed for collaborative programmes in the fields of research, education, training & capacity building, extension consultancy and other areas of agriculture sciences of national interest. ICAR and MANAGE have also agreed for mutually recognizing the faculty of both the Institutes for the research & teaching purposes, wherein, the students and faculties can carry out the specific, research and outreach activities at the laboratories of these institutions.
The MOU shall initially be valid for a period of five years. Dr. A.K. Singh, Deputy Director General (Extension) was identified as the nodal officer from ICAR for coordinating with the MANAGE to develop the work plan. It was also agreed upon that the Agrinnovate India Ltd. may be involved to take the technologies/methodologies jointly developed under the MoU for commercialization within and outside the country.
