NDRI focuses on marketing strategies for promoting dairy products

The training programme was organized in collaboration with CCS- National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (NIAM), Jaipur.

ICAR-National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI)  organized a three day training programme on “Marketing Strategies for Promotion of Dairy Products” from 24th to 26th of July, 2019 in the Dairy Economics, Statistics & Management Division (DES & M) division.

The training programme was organized in collaboration with CCS- National Institute of Agricultural Marketing (NIAM), Jaipur. The training was inaugurated by Dr. R.R.B Singh, Director, NDRI, Karnal.

The programme was attended by 35 participants including dairy entrepreneurs, students, dairy cooperative and industry professionals from across the nation which includes Cooperative bodies like Verka, Vita, etc.

This programme has been designed to enhance the understanding of market and devise suitable strategies aiming at higher profitability of dairy businesses with core emphasis on product adoption, distribution strategies, price competitiveness, targeting and segmentation of consumers.

Problems of milk producers, entrepreneurs and dairy start-ups related to milk marketing, product processing, packaging, e-marketing, new innovation in dairy were discussed with the help of experts in the concerned field.

The other dignitaries present in the function were Dr. Lata Sabikhi, Joint Director (Research), Dr. B.S. Chandel, Head and Principal Scientist, DES&M Division, Dr. A.K. Dixit, Principal Scientist and Course Coordinator, Dr. Sikha Verma, Consultant, NIAM, Dr. A.K. Sharma, Principal Scientist, and Ms. Gunjan Bhandari, Scientist, DES&M Division.
