It will be the ninth factory in India for Maggi
Nestlé India has announced the construction of its new plant in Gujarat for instant noodle brand Maggi with an initial investment of Rs 700 crore.
FSSAI banned the sale of Maggi noodles for almost six months over allegations that the packaged food product contained more than permissible levels of lead and MSG.
This forced Nestle to withdraw stocks of Maggi across India. However, the brand was relaunched later that year.
It will be its ninth factory in India for Maggi. Company’s instant noodles are currently manufactured at three plants.
