Azelis has expanded its partnership with Roquette, a global leader in plant-based ingredients for food, nutrition and health markets, into new territories. Effective immediately, Azelis now distributes Roquette’s complete food range in Indonesia and its pea ingredients in Vietnam, reinforcing Azelis’ position as key player in the food and nutrition industry and its commitment to support the markets in Asia Pacific in general.

Highlights & rationale

  • This new mandate builds upon the existing partnership between Azelis and Roquette in EMEA.
  • Roquette’s food range comprises of high-quality plant-based ingredients and vegetal proteins, which can be used in a wide variety of food applications.
  • Azelis’ expertise and innovation focus proved crucial for Roquette’s decision to continue growing this partnership.
  • This agreement also underlines Azelis commitment to organically grow with its key partners.

This additional partnership builds upon the standing relationship between Azelis and Roquette that started in January 2019 in EMEA. Azelis’ strong market presence, technical expertise and high focus on sustainability and innovation have proven to be a perfect match with Roquette’s vision and now continues to grow across regional borders.

Laurent Nataf, CEO and President Asia Pacific at Azelis, comments:

“Roquette’s high-quality ingredients are complementary to the existing Food & Health portfolio in Indonesia and Vietnam, allowing Azelis to bring a better offer to these local markets. Customers will benefit from this, as we can now offer a broader range of food ingredients in combination with technical & sales expertise. This new agreement is also an important acknowledgment of our continuous efforts to be a preferred partner for our renowned food ingredient suppliers, by bringing their product to new territories.”

David Franken, Head of Distribution Management at Roquette for Asia, adds:

“Our partnership with Azelis has already proven to be a fruitful one. Working together with the EMEA team has been very successful, as they have proven to be an innovative partner, with good market intelligence and technical expertise. Letting this partnership grow towards Asia Pacific is a natural next step, which will benefit customers and formulators when developing new more plant-based products for the food & health sector.”

Azelis has 17 food and nutrition application laboratories located around the globe, of which three are located in Asia Pacific (China, India, and Indonesia). Azelis’ ability to test products, develop innovative concepts and assist customers from concept to shelf makes it the chosen partner for many leading food and beverage customers.
