The startup offers a range of specialty teas in both hot and cold variants

Chennai based tea brand Chai Waale has pulled in Rs 1.75 crores as funding that would help with their goal of having around 45 fully operational outlets by March 2022. Founded in 2018 by Vidur Maheswari, the startup is looking to tap the unexplored organised tea market.

The investors of the funding round include Tharun Dhariwal, Executive Director at Dhariwal Group; Sunil Kumar Singhvi, Managing Partner at South Handlooms; and Arun Ostwal and Vishal Ostwal from the DK Group of Companies. Dhariwal is also an investor with startup incubator Venture Catalysts.

The startup offers a range of specialty teas in both hot and cold variants, and serves savoury foods including noodles, sandwiches and Indian dishes such as poha and khakhras. Currently, the startup is open to talking with investors for its next round of funding.
