The facility will produce flagship brands of Britannia, including Marie Gold, 5050, Good Day, Milk Bikis, Tiger Glucose and Rusk.

In line with the company’s commitment to supporting the ‘Make in India’ initiative, the facility will deploy state-of-the-art infrastructure and technology developed within the country. Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath graced the occasion of the foundation ceremony.

The work on the new manufacturing facility will commence in October 2021 and commercial production will begin in 15 months. The proposed facility will source key input materials such as wheat flour, sugar, and other ingredients locally thereby supporting a cross-section of the farming community in the state.

Varun Berry, MD, Britannia Industries, said, “This is Britannia’s first greenfield manufacturing facility in Uttar Pradesh. The state is a large consumption market for us and this facility will help us meet the growing demand for bakery products in Uttar Pradesh, and will also create fairly large-scale employment opportunities.”
