The company will collect back the milk packs from its consumers on a daily basis to recycle the plastic efficiently

Bengaluru-based Akshayakalpa Organic has announced the launch of its revolutionary recycling initiative- #GiveBackTheMilkPack.

More than 34 lakh tons of plastic waste were generated in 2019-20. A large contributor to this plastic waste is discarded milk packs that have an adverse effect on the environment. Akshayakalpa does the waste collection and partners with recycling ventures to segregate different kinds of plastic waste to recycle them into granules, which are then used as secondary raw material to make new products such as baskets and goods.

In addition to inviting its customers to join in on this movement, Akshayakalpa’s #GiveBackTheMilkPack programme extends an invitation to schools and other dairy producers and suppliers to also participate in this revolution.

The organic dairy brand will be rolling out this initiative across 3 cities that it serves currently: namely Bengaluru, Hyderabad & Chennai.

Akshayakalpa has also extended its commitment to creating a positive change with the launch of its sustainable packaging. Akshayakalpa Organic Milk is now also available in paperboards which are 92% biodegradable and 100% recyclable carton packs. This pack is not only eco-friendly but also provides convenient on-the-go nutrition, and it preserves the freshness of the milk for 5 days (while in refrigeration).
