Reliance Retail Ventures has been aggressively building its presence
Dr Rupinder Singh S Sodhi, former Managing Director (MD) at Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation Ltd (GCMMF), which markets its products under the brand name ‘Amul’, has joined Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, a Reliance group company, for an advisory role.
According to media reports, Dr Sodhi has been roped in to help the business build on its growth in the grocery space with a focus on fruits and vegetables, and strengthen the company’s presence in consumer brands.
Dr Sodhi had been working with Amul since the year 1982, following his exit from the company in January 2023. He has 40 years of rich experience in leading & developing cooperative sector within Indian dairy industry, having served dairy farmers in several capacities.
Given Dr Sodhi’s expertise in the dairy space, his skills may at some point also be leveraged by Reliance to launch products in the dairy and value-added dairy segment, as per reports.
