Union Minister inaugurates milk chilling plant of Balinee MPO

Balinee MPO, a shining example of PM’s women empowerment vision, said Lalan Singh

Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying (MoFAH&D) and Panchayati Raj, Rajiv Ranjan Singh, also known as Lalan Singh, along with Alka Upadhyaya, Secretary of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Dr. Meenesh Shah, Chairman of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and NDDB Dairy Services, and senior officials from Balinee Milk Producer Company Limited (Balinee MPO), dedicated a milk chilling plant to the people of Bundelkhand. They also honored enterprising women from the area who have not only uplifted themselves and their families through the Government of India’s ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme but have also set new benchmarks for quickly scaling projects.

Lalan Singh praised the industrious spirit of the people of Bundelkhand, particularly the women, stating, “I have requested the Chairman of NDDB to consider establishing a processing plant here. If your product cannot reach the market in a refined form, your income remains limited. Once a processing plant is in place, your milk will be processed, allowing you to market it as ‘Produced by Balinee.’ Not only will you earn from milk sales, but you will also gain from value addition, which can significantly increase your income.”

Alka Upadhyaya, impressed by the enterprising women members of Balinee MPO, encouraged them to consider diversifying their activities. She said, “Alongside your work in dairy, I urge you to explore launching another line of business. For instance, Banas Dairy in Gujarat has successfully expanded beyond dairy to initiate an innovative project involving potatoes, which is yielding excellent results. You are already well-organized and capable, and I believe you can take on a new initiative alongside your dairy work and see it grow as well.”
