Magnum Ice Cream to set up Rs 900 Cr Global Capability Centre in Pune

The new GCC will play a crucial role in Unilever’s global operations, providing strategic business, technology, and financial services support across international markets

In a significant advancement for Maharashtra’s emerging status as a hub for Global Capability Centres (GCC), the Government of Maharashtra signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Magnum Ice Cream Company HoldCo Netherlands B.V. (Unilever) during the IGF Mumbai: NXT25 event. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced this on his social media account.

Under this agreement, Unilever will invest Rs 900 crore to establish its largest Global Capability Centre (GCC), named Magnum, in Pune. The center is expected to create over 1,000 high-value, well-paying jobs, empowering local talent and further enhancing Pune’s reputation as a global business services hub.

The MoU signing ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Abhijit Bhattacharya, Global CFO of The Magnum Ice Cream Company, and Toloy Tanridagli, CEO of India, along with senior officials from the Government of Maharashtra.

 “This marks a new beginning for Maharashtra as it strives to become a preferred destination for Global Capability Centers,” Fadnavis stated. “We are grateful to Unilever and Magnum Ice Creams for placing their trust and confidence in Maharashtra.”
