McCain Foods India Wins at FICCI’s 2025 Sustainable Agriculture Awards

Focuses on its leadership in farm-level sustainability while sourcing

McCain Foods India has been honoured at the FICCI 5th Sustainable Agriculture Awards 2025, securing second rank in the category “Farm Level Sustainability Initiatives while Sourcing.” The recognition was announced during the award ceremony held in New Delhi.

The FICCI Sustainable Agriculture Awards celebrate organisations that demonstrate leadership in integrating sustainability across agricultural value chains, with a strong focus on farmer empowerment, resource efficiency, and long-term environmental stewardship. McCain Foods India’s recognition reflects its continued efforts to embed sustainable practices at the heart of its sourcing operations by working directly with farmers and strengthening on-ground agricultural ecosystems.

McCain Foods India follows a farmer-centric sourcing model that prioritises responsible procurement, adoption of good agricultural practices, and continuous capability-building at the farm level. Through structured farmer engagement programmes, field demonstrations, and agronomic support, the company works to promote efficient water use, improved soil health, responsible input management, and higher crop productivity. These efforts not only support environmental sustainability but also help farmers enhance resilience, profitability, and long-term livelihoods.

Mainak Dhar, Managing Director, McCain Foods India, said: “At McCain, our purpose of celebrating real connections through delicious, planet-friendly food begins long before our products reach consumers—it starts in the fields with our farmers. This recognition from FICCI is a humbling endorsement of our belief that sustainable agriculture is built on deep, collaborative partnerships at the farm level. We are grateful to our grower community, whose trust and commitment make this journey possible. Honours like this motivate us to stay focused on what truly matters: creating shared value by nurturing resilient ecosystems, supporting farmer prosperity, and ensuring that sustainability and quality go hand-in-hand in everything we do.”

Sachin Thorat, Director – Agriculture, McCain Foods India, said: “This recognition reflects the dedication of our farmer partners and the impact of working together at the grassroots. By strengthening agronomic capabilities, promoting resource-efficient practices, and supporting innovation in the field, we are building a more resilient and sustainable agricultural ecosystem. We remain committed to helping farmers grow more confidently, sustainably, and profitably.”
