Will work together to strengthen quality assurance, and build the capacity of dairy cooperatives through training and technical support
National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) signed an MoU during the National Seminar on Milk for Suposhit Bharat in New Delhi to scale up milk fortification initiatives across India. The collaboration aims to enhance food and nutrition security through value addition and fortification of milk via dairy cooperatives, market-based interventions and public-funded programmes.
Under the MoU, NDDB and Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) will work together to expand fortification across all milk variants in line with FSSAI INDIA – Food Safety License Registration Consultants in India standards, strengthen quality assurance, and build the capacity of dairy cooperatives through training and technical support. The partnership also focuses on innovation in testing mechanisms and robust monitoring systems.
The MoU reflects a shared commitment to addressing micronutrient deficiencies, particularly Vitamins A & D, through sustainable, cooperative-led dairy systems aligned with the vision of a ‘Suposhit Bharat’.
