Speaking in the session, Karimnagar Dairy chairman Ch Rajeshwara Rao stated that they were going in for the milk fortification as per the FSSAI guidelines in order to protect the vital Vitamin A and D in all forms of the milk.

Rao also added that Karimnagar Dairy milk would soon have the mandatory F plus (Fortified) logo with every new package.

Amongst the attendees was Amrutha Sri, the Food Controller of Warangal Zone, who called upon all the diaries of the Telangana state to follow in the footsteps of Karimnagar Dairy and make milk fortification statutory within a few months.

Later, the KHPT representatives made a PowerPoint presentation on the benefits of milk fortification and clarified several doubts about the quality control officials. They also made a live demonstration of milk fortification in the Karimnagar dairy premises.

Karimnagar Dairy Managing Director P Shankar Reddy, Advisor V Hanumantha Reddy and other dairy executives were also present.

Ashwin Bhadri, CEO of Equinox Labs, says, “Milk is one of the most nutritious foods. It is a staple food in India. It is an excellent way of adding nutrients to the diet as milk is commonly consumed by all people, more so by children.”

Bhadri continues, “Vitamin A and D that are added to milk, improve vision, make the bones strong and help to improve the body’s immunity against infections.”
