Union Budget 2025: Strengthens agriculture and advancing a sustainable food system
The increase in the Kisan Credit Card loan limit to Rs5 lakhs and investments in post-harvest storage, irrigation, and crop diversification will promote sustainable growth in the agricultural economy
Brahmani Nara, Executive Director of Heritage Foods, stated, “We commend the Union Budget for 2025-26 for its initiatives in agriculture and exports.
We are pleased to see efforts to boost agricultural productivity align with our commitment to farmers, particularly the plan to transition one crore farmers to natural farming methods.
The increase in the Kisan Credit Card loan limit to Rs5 lakhs and investments in post-harvest storage, irrigation, and crop diversification will promote sustainable growth in the agricultural economy. As we engage with lakhs of farmers across nine states, we believe these policies will enhance financial security and elevate India’s competitiveness in agriculture and dairy.
We also welcome the Export Promotion Mission and its targets, which will help streamline processes and improve market access for India’s dairy exports.
As India’s second-largest listed dairy company, we are optimistic that these measures will support the agricultural community and strengthen the broader economy, driving India toward becoming a global agri-food powerhouse.”
