HADSA organises Global NutraConnect Summit: Unveiling the Growth Story

Discussions were held on to enable innovation, strengthen public health outcomes, and ensure that health supplements deliver meaningful benefits

Health Foods and Dietary Supplements Association (HADSA) organised the Global NutraConnect Summit: Unveiling the Growth Story in Mumbai today.

The dinitaries were welcomed by Kaushik Desai, Secretary General, HADSA. The Guest of Honour for the summit was Pritee Chaudhary, regional Director, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), Western Region.

According to Simon Pettman, Executive Director, International Alliance Of Dietary/Food Supplement Associations (IADSA), vitamins, minerals, botanicals, and other ingredients are increasingly being used to maintain resilience, productivity, and long-term health. The idea of “Revive Ayurveda” is particularly compelling in this context—it reflects how traditional knowledge can be adapted into formats that resonate with modern consumers. However, to be heard—by regulators, scientists, and consumers alike—trust must be earned. The goal is clear: to raise standards and ensure consumers can purchase products with confidence. Continued collaboration between regulators, industry, and scientists will be essential. This will enable innovation, strengthen public health outcomes, and ensure that health supplements deliver meaningful benefits to consumers—not just in India, but across the globe.”

Chi Hee Kim, Chair, IADSA and VP, Global, Regulatory and Post Market Safety Affairs, Herbalife mentioned that the health supplement sector is at a defining moment globally, driven by converging factors like evolving nutrition science, increased consumer demand and purchasing power, and public health needs, with India emerging as a significant manufacturing and innovation hub ready to serve a global market of 8.3 billion people, necessitating regulatory alignment for continued growth and export readiness.
