Inside BENEO’s new pulse plant: pioneering sustainable protein from faba beans
Federation of Indian Animal Protection Organisations (FIAPO) has collaborated with Cocoberry to launch vegan yogurt in the Delhi-NCR Cocoberry stores this Christmas. The yogurt are coming out in five vegan flavours – strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, green apple and berry blast.
This collaboration is part of FIAPO’s corporate outreach campaign where businesses that produce consumables by using animal products are encouraged to use cruelty-free ingredients.
About 27 per cent Indian population is vegetarian but many people are looking for readily available dairy-free options.
As per a recent survey conducted by FIAPO in Delhi-NCR to know the food preference of the Indian population aged 15 to 20, majority of them are concerned about the ingredients of consumable products. Indian society is moving towards dairy-free, organic and healthier options.
FIAPO’s programme targets the food and beverage and leather industry in the country. The federation reaches out to big brands such as ice cream, coffee and tea brands and request them not to use egg in baked products and switch to compassionate choice of ingredients for tea and coffee, substituting cow and buffalo milk with to soya, almond or coconut milk.
Cocoberry will be launching the vegan yogurt in December with soya milk as the main ingredient.
