Singh served as Animal Husbandry minister from 2010 to 2013

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has allocated Cabinet portfolios to his new ministers. 

While Narendra Singh Tomar is the Cabinet Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Giriraj Singh has now been given the Ministry of Animal Husbandry, Dairying and Fisheries in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s cabinet. 

Giriraj Singh is the Member of Parliament from the Begusarai parliamentary constituency in the 17th Lok Sabha, and formerly served as Minister of Cooperative, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Resource Development in the Government of Bihar.

Singh served in the government of Bihar as co-operative minister from 2005 to 2010 and as Animal Husbandry minister from 2010 to 2013.

Among others, Ramvilas Paswan  is the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Harsimrat Kaur Badal retains the Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
