Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced in the Budget

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman emphasised the government’s commitment to strengthening food processing as part of its efforts to empower the poor. A National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management will be set up in Bihar to promote food processing in the eastern region. This initiative aims to achieve two major goals: increasing farmers’ incomes through value addition to their produce and generating skilling, entrepreneurship, and employment opportunities for the region’s youth.
