Spotlighting Storytelling as a Key Food Trend
Godrej Industries Group unveiled the Godrej Food Trends Report 2026 (GFTR 2026) at Tasting India: Culinary Conversations in New Delhi, highlighting storytelling as a defining force in India’s evolving culinary landscape. Hosted by Godrej Vikhroli Cucina, the immersive three-day event brought together chefs, authors, historians, and media voices to explore emerging food narratives.
Curated by Rushina Munshaw Ghildiyal, Managing Director of Perfect Bite Consulting and Curating Editor of the Godrej Food Trends Report, the ninth edition draws insights from over 200 culinary experts. The report emphasises how food is now experienced beyond taste—through provenance, cultural memory, and human connection. Key trends include the rise of bold, “chatpata” flavours, increasing recognition of women farmers, the transformation of traditional mithai into Indo-modern creations, and a shift toward savoury, protein-rich snacks. It also highlights the evolution of home cooking into hybrid formats using high-quality pre-prepared bases.
Tanya Dubash, Executive Director & Chief Brand Officer, Godrej Industries Group noted that storytelling around people, provenance, and purpose is reshaping how consumers perceive food. Sujit Patil, Chief Communications Officer, Godrej Industries Group added that the 2026 edition bridges insight with emotion, reinforcing the role of narratives in shaping the future of India’s food ecosystem.
