GCCI, ITCFSAN, FSSAI organise training session on repurpose used cooking oil

Discussions were held on importance of monitoring Total Polar Compounds (TPC) and ensuring safe disposal through authorised collectors as per FSSAI directives

Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) in association with the International Training Centre for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (ITCFSAN) and the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (Western Region), recently organised a focussed training session on Repurpose Used Cooking Oil (RUCO) at GCCI, Ahmedabad.

HL Ravat, Joint Commissioner, FDCA, Gujarat, emphasised the importance of monitoring Total Polar Compounds (TPC) and ensuring safe disposal through authorised collectors as per FSSAI directives.

Rajesh Gandhi, Sr Vice President, GCCI, reaffirmed GCCI’s commitment to fostering responsible, compliant and sustainable practices within the food industry.

Kaushik Patel, Chairman, Food & Dairy Committee, GCCI, highlighted the importance of awareness, compliance and practical guidance to help food business operators effectively implement RUCO regulations.

The session also featured insights from Vaidehi Kalzunkar, Deputy Director – Tech, ITCFSAN-FSSAI, Akshda Bane, Central Licensing Authority, FSSAI, Joseph Amrutraj, Technical Officer, FSSAI and Julia Pape, Communications and PR, Münzer Bharat, followed by an interactive Q&A session.

The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Kunal Thakkar, Co-Chairman, Food & Dairy Committee, GCCI, who acknowledged the contributions of all speakers, partners and participants.
