NIFTEM-K has inaugurated a Science & Technology Hub for Food Processing at Badsar, Himachal Pradesh, in collaboration with Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (CSKHPKV) Palampur and supported by DST under the SEED initiative.
On this occasion, Director NIFTEM-K, Dr Harinder Singh Oberoi, emphasised that innovations must reach rural communities and this hub will act as a crucial bridge connecting science with grassroots entrepreneurship.
The facility was formally inaugurated by Dr AK Panda, Vice Chancellor (Officiating), CSKHPKV Palampur, in the presence of key stakeholders including Dr Rajni Chopra, Principal Investigator and Head, Dept of Food Sc & technology, NIFTEM-Kundli, Dr Chanderkanta Vats, Dean, College of Community Science, and Prof Anupama Sandal, Head, Department of Food Science, Nutrition & Technology, along with local leadership and SHG members.
