NIFTEM-Kundli celebrates major milestones with MoUs at World Food India 2024

The collaborations will significantly contribute to self-reliant India, promoting domestic manufacturing and reducing dependency on imports in the food sector

At the third edition of World Food India 2024, NIFTEM-Kundli (National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management) made significant strides in advancing the food processing sector with significant strategic MoUs with 11 renowned companies, including Hindustan Unilever (HUL), Nestlé R&D Centre, TCPL Pvt. Ltd., Tetra Pak Pvt. Ltd., Marico Ltd., LT Foods Limited, Hexagon Nutrition Limited, Fermenta Biotech Limited, Tirupati Life Sciences, Sahyadri Farms, and Nutrify Today.

In addition to these, NIFTEM-K also signed MoUs with three development partners and associations —The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), Technoserve, and the Indo-Maize & Millets Development Association-Pune—and forged partnerships with four leading academic and research institutions, including IISER Kolkata, MDU Rohtak, IIIT Sonipat, IIT Bombay, and the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA).

These partnerships focus on collaborative research programmes, new product development, establishment of centres of Excellence, placement of students as well as incubation activities. NIFTEM-K also successfully transferred five innovative technologies to food companies and startups and launched a pesticide detection kit for tea leaves.

This milestone reinforces NIFTEM-K’s commitment to innovation, food safety, and sustainability, showcasing it’s pivotal role in shaping the future of food processing sector.
