The import of such products will be permitted through Delhi and Mumbai ports only

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has allowed the import of Food for Special Medical purposes (i.e food for inborn error of metabolism and hypoallergenic conditions).

The import of such products will be permitted through Delhi and Mumbai ports only.

These food products are meant for medical conditions such as amino acid metabolic disorders, phenylketonuria, maple syrup urine disease, urea cycle disorders, citrullinemia, galactosemia, cow milk protein allergy, to name a few.
