Big Mountain Foods to scale up production capacity by 2021

With the facility in place, Big Mountain Foods eyes to scale up its production and compete with other global plant-based brands

Vancouver-based food manufacturer, Big Mountain Foods, announces its expansion into a 70,000 sq. ft. facility to scale up its production capacity by 2021, and compete with other global plant-based brands.

Founded by mother-daughter duo Kimberly Chamberland and Jasmine Byrne, Big Mountain Foods recently began distributing to Kroger, the largest American supermarket by revenue, which provided the momentum for their expansion. At the same time, they launched four new “Veggie Links” products across Canada and the USA. All nine Big Mountain Foods products are gluten, nut, and soy-free, certified vegan, and non-GMO verified.

“I am so proud of the expansion Big Mountain has undergone to get to this point and we are ready to move forward into a larger facility with the top talent in place to execute our product outreach strategy across the USA, Canada, and Asia over the next five years,” says Kimberly Chamberland, President of Big Mountain Foods. Over the course of two years, the company also underwent an extensive rebrand of their products. Their packaging now includes 40 percent less plastic and 25 percent less cardboard to reduce their carbon footprint. By 2025, the company plans to run a zero-waste facility.

Big Mountain Foods is also focusing on its people and putting together a diverse team to support the rapid growth.
